Scott Kelly oversees the global daily operations of Hitachi Vantara. Scott’s responsibility is to keep the company's strategy aligned to its goals, vision, and transformation agenda and to ensure ongoing focus and loyalty to its customers. He also leads the company’s enterprise-wide initiatives to drive its global growth strategy and digital agenda. Scott also served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Hitachi Data Systems prior to the company’s integration to Hitachi Vantara.
As the Chief Transformation Officer, Scott Kelly leads Hitachi Vantara’s digital transformation to provide new capabilities that help customers unlock the full value of their data, establish their Data Ops advantage, and partner on co-innovation to successfully deliver on their vision. Scott also leads all aspects of the company’s world-wide operations including sales, global partners, marketing, IT, and HR.
Before joining Hitachi, Scott worked for Nestlé, Scottish Power, Motorola and Dun & Bradstreet where he was involved in setting the transformation agenda and managing the change process. Scott was also responsible for the global leadership strategy, as well as companywide talent agenda and organizational alignment. As a result, he is very familiar with what makes global organizations optimize performance.
Scott has degrees in human resource management, biology, and biotechnology from the University of WoS and the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. He also attended executive education with Tuck School of Business and IMD. Scott is a native of Scotland and has lived in Silicon Valley for almost 10 years.
Renée Lahti is responsible for developing and implementing information technology (IT) initiatives that align with the Hitachi Vantara mission. She leads the transformation of the Hitachi Vantara IT group from a conventional organization with many operational silos to a dynamic, agile team that efficiently focusses on business outcomes. Today, the IT group is an organization of cross-functional teams that include business and IT functions and work together using iterative, agile sprints.
Just as many of our customers are doing in their digital transformations, Lahti has moved away from company-owned data centers and offers IT as a service to Hitachi Vantara business groups and to sister Hitachi companies. Her rethinking of IT’s purpose and agility enabled the IT group to integrate Hitachi Data Systems, Hitachi Pentaho and Hitachi Insights into the new Hitachi Vantara organization, switching over our information systems and service desks around the world in less than 30 hours!
Lahti meets frequently with our customers’ CIOs to share experiences and exchange effective strategies. She regularly gives feedback to our marketing and development teams to help Hitachi Vantara stay current with the challenges and opportunities that our customers face every day.
Prior to Hitachi Data Systems, Lahti held CIO positions at SC Johnson and Sons, and Symantec Corporation and senior IT leadership roles at Oracle and PeopleSoft. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a master’s degree from the University of Texas. Lahti says she was very privileged when she was growing up because no one ever told her she should limit her aspirations. She is a strong advocate of STEAM (science, technology, arts, engineering and mathematics) programs and careers for girls and women to give them the confidence to do what inspires them.
Daniel Chong is Senior Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific, at Hitachi Vantara. He is responsible for providing strategic direction, boosting revenue growth, expanding the business and leading the company in its drive to capitalize on fast-growing opportunities in the Asia Pacific region.
Daniel joined Hitachi in 2010 as General Manager of China & Taiwan for Hitachi Data Systems, where he oversaw regional business operations and management. He was also responsible for enhancing the company's revenue and profitability while expanding its local user base and market share, until he took over the regional leadership role in November 2017.
Prior to his roles at Hitachi, Daniel was General Manager, Financial Services, Communications, Media & Utilities, Greater China region for Oracle Systems, where he built a sustainable business model that helped to achieve high growth in the China market. With more than 30 years’ experience in the IT industry, he has also held senior positions at PeopleSoft, BMC, Informix and IBM where he focused on sales & marketing, business development and company management.
Daniel graduated from Hong Kong University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and holds MBA from Chinese University of Hong Kong.
A key leader within the Strategic Partners & Alliances organization, King is focused on helping Hitachi Vantara establish and grow strategic partnerships that create a competitive advantage for the organization in the marketplace. She is also responsible for constructing and delivering a flexible and scalable global partner program that allows for new types of partners and business models, including as-a-service, managed services, and co-creation. King joined the company in March 2018 from Progress Software where she was Vice President, Global Partners and Channels. Between 2010 and 2018, King was recognized as a CRN Channel Chief nine times and a CRN Power 100 Woman of the Channel six times.
Gary Roberts is Vice President and Chief of Staff for Brad Surak, Hitachi Vantara’s Chief Product and Strategy Officer (CPSO). Roberts leverages his 40 years of high tech and executive experience to ensure the Product and Strategy group is effective in its delivery to the company and its customers. Key responsibilities include driving strategic initiatives on behalf of the CPSO, crafting solutions for complex projects, implementing critical decisions, and creating collaborative partnerships both internally and externally.
Roberts has an extensive background in Financial Services (Insurance & Banking), Manufacturing, Software Development, Transportation/Supply-Chain Logistics, and Civil Engineering businesses. He has managed organizations as large as 3600 and budgets over $500 million. He has thirty years of management experience; fifteen of these with an international scope (Europe, Latin America, India, and Asia-Pacific). When at Oracle, Gary was a direct report to Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle Corporation and helped Ellison transform Oracle’s business. This effort – known as “The $1 Billion Story” – was documented extensively in Business Week, Fortune, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and other major publications around the globe. He has collaborated or led technology efforts significant to the success of Union Pacific Corporation, American Express, Seagate and JDA Software.
Additional notable experience includes advising senior leaders in his role as Senior Executive Partner at Gartner, assigned to clients at Amazon, GE Digital, Expedia, PayPal, and VMware. In his role as SVP and CIO/CISO at JDA Software, Roberts crafted, organized and executed an “All-in” Cloud strategy in just 36 months.
Roberts attended St. Mary’s College, Moraga, California, (Business Management) and is a graduate of Stanford University’s Advanced Management Program. A native San Franciscan, Roberts resides in Scotts Valley, California and enjoys hiking, climbing, biking, and classical music.
Joe Ong is responsible for all aspects of sales and revenue generation, management and business strategy in ASEAN. Based in Singapore, Joe provides overall leadership and guidance on business direction, including go-to-market strategies.
Joe is an accomplished business leader who has driven growth, built world-class teams, and led with vision and inspiration throughout his career. He is known as an exceptional leader with deep expertise in changing market and customer dynamics. He has more than 27 years of sales experience in the IT industry and has demonstrated success in driving digital transformations that deliver top-line growth and productivity. He has a relentless focus in helping the customers achieve unprecedented outcomes by tapping the full potential of their data.
Previously, Joe was the Managing Director for Hitachi Vantara, Singapore & Vietnam. Joe has a proven history in building successful business within multinational companies. Prior to Hitachi Vantara, Joe held several senior executive positions at EMC, IBM.
Russell is a technical strategist, enterprise and network architect, and customer-facing executive with a wide range of experience in a significant number of technologies and management disciplines.
Russell first joined Hitachi Vantara in 2016 and applies his experience and knowledge to the development of global technical strategies to help bring transformative technologies and solutions to Hitachi Vantara customers as part of the global go to market strategy team. He has over 30 years of experience that has taken in programming, systems administration, network engineering, virtualisation technologies, security, high level consultancy, architecture methodologies and executive leadership.
Prior to joining Hitachi Vantara, Russell was the Vice President of Systems Engineering for APAC at Juniper Networks after working in a number of roles there, including Global Leader for the Data Center Virtualisation and Automation team and Business Development Director for Service Provider Edge Solutions spearheading the edge router and SDN/NFV efforts of the APAC theatre.
Before joining Juniper Networks, Russel was the CTO for FPT Telecom, a Vietnamese Challenger Telco and leading broadband provider focussed on leveraging their IP networking assets to disrupt the telecommunications industry.
Prior to moving into APAC, Russell had spent 15 years delivering IT and Network Solutions to organisations as diverse as the Telecommunications, Department of Defence, State Government, Education Sector, and Australia's Largest Banks.
Pratyush Khare is the Vice President Presales and CTO, APAC for Hitachi Vantara. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for managing a team of technical sales across the APAC region and working with customers in data storage, cloud, IoT and data analytics.
With 19 years of experience in the space of software, infrastructure, cloud, AI, content management & records management, Pratyush has been based out of India, USA and Singapore, working with customers from various industries across different regions. He has been involved with many large-scale data storage, content management, backup and archival implementations on public cloud and on-premise for customers such as NYSE, Statefarm Insurance & National Archives of Korea.
Pratyush returned to Hitachi after spending two years at IBM as the CTO for Cloud Platform, Asia Pacific, where he managed a team of technical sales selling IaaS & Watson offering on IBM Cloud in the region.
Prior to IBM, Pratyush worked for Hitachi Data System as Business Director for object storage solutions.
Pratyush has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He is committed to supporting various charities that help improve children’s education together with his wife who is a teacher. He is married with two kids.
Nathan McGregor is currently Vice President – Data & Analytics for the Hitachi Vantara APAC Region. He is responsible for leading Hitachi Vantara’s strategic direction and operations for the Pentaho software solution, to grow market share and overall accountability for delivery of the APAC revenue targets. In support of this objective, Nathan leads a team of sales and technical specialists across the region to take advantage of the large market growth in the big data and analytics segment.
Previously, Nathan led Hitachi Vantara ANZ’s overall strategic direction and operations, to grow market share within its core business with overall accountability for revenue and profitability. With over 17 years’ experience in the telecommunications and IT industry, Nathan has led sales teams of high-value, complex solutions incorporating cutting edge technology and challenging systems integration. Nathan has a strong track record of high performance in business development for complex technology and networking.
Eric Buck is the Vice President, Global Distribution and Digital Partner Sales. He leads the global sales effort for digital partner sales and distribution management.
Eric is responsible for all aspects of global distribution strategy, coverage and execution as well as recruitment, management and growth with emerging partnerships, increasing focus on the transition to cloud-based deployment, IoT support, and advanced analytics.
Buck’s 20-year career includes leadership roles at vendor, distributor and reseller companies spanning networking, wireless, storage and cloud technologies. Prior to joining Hitachi Vantara, he led WW partner sales at Ruckus Networks, an enterprise networking company. Also, he was responsible for WW distribution at Brocade. Before that, he held leadership positons at TESSCO, an outdoor wireless reseller and distributor and Tech Data with responsibilitities for the Cisco business unit and Sales Operations.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Florida and has his MBA.
For over twenty years, Matthew Hardman has been working with customers to bridge the gap between business opportunities and information technology to deliver solutions that drive a positive outcome. In his career, he has engaged the Asia Pacific region as Technology Evangelist, Platform Strategist, and Product Director, working for some of the world’s leading technology companies (Microsoft, VMware, LinkedIn). Today at Hitachi Vantara, Matthew Hardman works with a team of technical experts focused on the business of Data Intelligence, to help customers store, enrich, activate and monetize the huge amounts of structured and unstructured data they deal with on a daily basis.
Andrew Leong is the Partner and Alliance Director, ASEAN .
He helps to create and drive revenue opportunities by managing the overall business alliance partnerships, development, execution and cross-functional coordination of existing and new partnerships.
He is responsible for developing and strengthening channel partner ecosystems, including distributors, resellers, local and regional system integrators through programs and sales incentives.
Mr Foo Shyy San, Fuji joined Certis in 2017 as Vice President of Business Digitalisation and is responsible to strategize, architect and drive business digitalisation as part of Certis Group Tech Pivot initiative.
Prior to joining Certis, he held the role of Senior Sales Director of Enterprise Solutions Business Unit at NEC Asia Pacific. During his 8-year tenure with NEC Asia Pacific, Fuji has had extensive experience in innovative solution strategy development and consultative value selling. His industry experience covers the public sector, transport, logistics, wholesale, retail and hospitality.
Fuji graduated from the National University of Singapore with a First Class Honours in Computer Science, and has also completed his Executive Master of Business Administration with Singapore Management University. He is also certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and a Certified IT Project Manager (CITPM).
Directorate General of Taxes is a government body under the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, tasked with formulating and implementing policies and technical standardization in the field of taxation.
As the CIO, Mr. Iwan Djuniardi is responsible for new IT system developments and leading the digital transformation within the institution.
Born in Bandung, Mr Iwan is passionate about his work and combines digital-savviness with business knowledge to stay ahead of the evolving technology landscape.
Kelvin is the Regional Director for South East Asia, looking after 2 enterprise business divisions, which are the Brocade storage networking division, and the CA software division which was recently acquired in Nov 2018. He has 20+ years in the IT industry, focusing on a wide range of infrastructure solutions. Prior to Broadcom, he spent 16 years at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE), where he held various positions in South East Asia, focused on IoT, Manufacturing and Smart Cities as an industry subject matter expert and sales leader. He has also led various teams focusing on Enterprise Storage and Mission Critical Servers.
Joseph is a seasoned professional with 20 years of comprehensive ICT industry experience working for leading IT Giants and Fortune 500 companies like Cisco Systems, Sun Microsystems Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) and Oracle. Has extensive experience in business development, sales, technical consulting and services delivery for Data Center infrastructure solutions in the ASEAN region. He has also built, led and managed teams of consultants and architects across ASEAN region.
Previously, he has been in Cisco Systems as a Data Center Sales Specialist and focusing on DC solutions to support Cisco customers and partners in Singapore. Currently runs the business for the Data Center Switching and solutions in the ASEAN region.
Santoso Suwignyo is the Senior Director, Technical Services of VMware in South East Asia and Korea. He is an IT veteran with over 20 years of experience. He leads a team of high performing and customer focused solution consultants as well as supervises Professional services organization in the region. He also actively drives go-to-market strategy across the region.
Prior to joining VMware, Santoso was a Systems Engineering Director of Asia at Citrix Systems, and held various technical leadership and other technical roles with Dimension Data, Siemens and MCSB.
Santoso holds a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Ohio State University, USA. During his free time, he enjoys reading and has growing interest in photography. He is also an avid fan of NBA basketball and soccer.
